A Glance Back at 2011


Resolutions:

1.  Resistance/Weight Training once a week:  not even close, 16/52

2.  Timed 5-mile run once a week: nope, 14/32 into August, then stopped with knee injury

3.  1/2 mile uphill run weekly:  was doing well, 31/32 into August, until knee injury

4.  Run 300 miles:  was doing well, 193/200 into August, until knee injury

5.  Lose 3 lbs. to return to 117:  was 17 lbs. or less 8/12 months, and ended year with success

6.  Read 10 books:  read 29


A few personal highlights:

  • Spoke at EBC (Jan.), HBC (Feb.), EMU (Apr., Nov.), TUCC (July)
  • Vacations in Washington DC (July) and Alexandria VA (Dec.)

  • Returned to the classroom full-time after 10 yrs. as program head (Aug.)

  • Left church and denomination of 19 and 49 years  (Apr.)


  • Ran 192.8 miles including two 5K races before stopping with tears in knee cartilage
